How to Restore Items in WoW
Restoring your items in WoW is actually pretty simple. Here are a few quick fixes you can follow:
1st Fix: Use Blizzard’s Item Restoration Feature
If you happen to have lost, destroyed or disenchanted item in your World of Warcraft game, you can use the Item Restoration feature by Blizzard. To do so, simply follow these steps.
- Go to this link.
- Click the blue button that says “Begin Item Restoration.” After clicking, you’ll be prompted to log in to your Blizzard account. However, if you’re already logged in, you’ll be taken to the restoration page instead.
- In the restoration page, simply select your character and the item(s) you want to restore.
- Once you have chosen the items you want to restore, simply click Continue.
- After that, you’ll be taken to the Confirmation page where you can finalize things. If everything’s fine, then click on Restore Items.
- Your items should be available in your in-game character via the in-game
Please note that you can only use this “Item Restoration” service once every 15 days if you have an active account with a good standing. Therefore, it’s recommended that you have to choose all of the items you want to restore in one go.
Also, keep in mind that this is only applicable for items you have either sold, disenchanted, or destroyed. For items which have been disenchanted or destroyed, WoW’s system will remove all the materials gained before they were destroyed. Therefore, you need to make sure that you have all the materials in your character’s bag before you can use the Item Restoration service.
You won’t be able to complete the restoration process if you are not equipped with the necessary materials.
Additional Note: The Heirloom Items of your characters are added to your collections tab upon logging in. Thus, you need to ensure that you have logged in to your character before you use the Restoration service for Heirloom Items. Please note that Game Masters are not able to assist you in recovering Heirloom Items.
2nd Fix: Restore a Deleted Character
If the item you want to recover is in a character you have already deleted, you can just undelete it. Blizzard Support has given us these quick and easy to follow tips:
- In the Character Selection screen, click on the circular arrow icon right next to the Create New Character button.
- After that, you’ll see a list of characters you can restore.
- Simply choose the character you want to restore and click the circular arrow button.
Although you can restore your character and all items in the inventory prior to deletion, you can’t restore those items you already destroyed or deleted before the deletion happened. Also, you need to make sure that you have enough space for your deleted character.
You can only restore up to 18 characters per realm with a maximum of 50 throughout all realms.
You should also consider these following criteria:
- Class Trial characters, a Lv. 98 Demon Hunter, a Lv. 55 Death Knight, and a character below Lv. 10 are not eligible for restoration.
- Characters that are between Lv. 10-29 can be restored within 90 days after deleting, while those between Lv. 30-49 or a Demon Hunter between Lv. 99-100 can be restored within 120 days after deleting.
- Characters that are at least Lv. 50 can be restored anytime you want.

3rd Fix: Submit a Ticket
If in case you have lost a stackable item, then you will need to submit a ticket to Blizzard’s Customer Support. Here’s how:
- Visit this link.
- Click on Web Ticket. You will then be taken to a page where you have to provide information about your character.
- Simply fill in the required fields. These include your Character, Realm, the name of the item you want retrieved, and a detailed description of your item. Make sure to be as accurate as possible.
- You may even attach an image detailing the issue. Click Continue then Submit Ticket.
- After that, all you can do is wait for a reply from their Customer Support.
For all other items which are no longer available on the stackable items, they are no longer available for restoration. Please note that restored items, including bind on equip, should not be traded.
